Status Updates From Vanity, Vengeance And A Wee...

Sophie agrees to testify what Margarita did so the FBI can put her away. The FBI agent BoBo who helped me escape Natasha bugged Sophie’s death purse without a warrant so they will drop Sophie’s charges as long as she testifies. Anatoly got shot but is okay and says he will divorce Natasha. She doesn’t have anything on him anymore since she hired BoBo who is an agent. Alex got away. He sent Sophie her computer

The Russian Mafia run by Natasha’s family was selling the drugs for the Mexican cartel but withheld money from the Cartel. Alex knew this info and told Margarita the head of the cartel after his brother was killed. He wants to get the Mafia killed who are involved and then take over. He needs Anatoly to show Margarita the proof of his claim. Tanya was working with Alex on this plan but Natasha protected Anatoly.

Sophie goes and wakes up Dena and tells her what she found. Leah emailed Dena the files they found on Anatoly’s USB. It’s history of plane tickets to Mexico. They find out it’s to a place run by the Mexican cartel who is run by a woman! Alex always knows where Sophie has been! He must have tracked her phone when it was in his house. They decide to leave but he catches them. Sophie shoots him with his gun!

Sophie goes snooping around Alex’s house. She heard him and Margarita fighting in Spanish. It sounds like she is the boss not Alex. After she leaves Sophie hears Alex sobbing. While snooping she finds the same paper clip in the shape of a bone that Dena put on Sophie’s strap of her laptop case before the man broke into her room and stole it!

Alex wants to talk to Anatoly. He wants to confirm if the mafia killed his brother Kenya because he had brought the FBI agent in with the mafia. He needs understanding. Alex knew Natasha drove Sophie out to Red Rock canyon! She didn’t tell him the name of the park. He is very suspicious but something about him makes Sophie kind of crushing on him. Sophie’s mom found Anatoly’s hidden USB stick!

Leah and Mary Ann are having a good time gambling and have no idea someone broke into Sophie’s room and took her computer. Sophie needs to go see Alex again. Make him think she trusts him, get his guard down and see if he tries to do anything. This way she can decide if he is the one up to this whole mess. Dena goes with her to get her own revenge on Fawn if it comes to that.

Anatoly has some info that could bring the whole mafia down! It could go nuclear. Anatoly doesn’t think Alex is behind this. He wants Sophie to leave Vegas but of course she won’t so he leaves again to keep his facade going with Natasha. Sophie and Marcus go back to the hotel room and it’s a mess. They see a man leaving with Sophie’s computer with her only manuscript for her recent book! She is pissed!

The mafia member who brought in the FBI agent was Alex’s brother! Alex also thinks Anatoly knew about the FBI too. This issue was settled a long time ago so why is Anatoly’s life threatened? Anatoly killed someone who worked for the family but that person threatened his life. If Anatoly gets killed Alex is happy b/c he knew the FBI. If Anatoly kills a mob member Alex gets revenge for Kenya who the mob killed.

Dena comes in so Alex leaves. Alex can speak Spanish like Anatoly. Dena says she saw a beautiful Latina woman in the lobby. Sophie takes off wondering if it’s Margarita, Alex’s housekeeper. Marcus goes with Sophie and they see Margarita. They follow her but lose her. Natasha pulls up and tells Sophie to get in!

Alex comes to Sophie’s hotel room. He is willing to answer more questions. He shares that he used to have a brother that the mob killed to make a message. Alex wants revenge. Fawn gave Sophie the news so she would confront Anatoly. When Sophie came to Vegas they set Anatoly up. Natasha saved him. Which all started by him possibly setting up the Mob with the FBI. Why is the mob coming for Anatoly now?

Alex gives her a gun to protect herself with before she leaves. Marcus looks up Alex and finds out that Alex is the half brother of Fawn! Maybe the gun was the one used to kill Tanya & Alex wants to set Sophie up! But why was Tanya killed in the first place. Anatoly had gone to Vegas to find Sophie to protect her. Tanya distracted him by saying she could take him to her room. Then she dies! It’s all so confusing!

Alex arrives to his house. He bought Sophie clothes since hers got messed up. He starts answering her questions. Anatoly is involved with Natasha’s mob that her dad runs. Anatoly got in trouble with the mob when he introduced the new guy who wound up being a FBI agent! Anatoly has dirt on the mob so they have tracked him all this time to make sure he isn’t sharing. They also tapped Sophie’s phone.

Sophie gets to Alex’s huge house and is trying to hop the fence but is struggling. Her phone rings and in her frustration she answers. It’s Alex. His housekeeper thinks Sophie is trying to break in. He tells her to go to the gate. The housekeeper will let her in. She listens. The housekeeper looks really beautiful. Her accent is strange. She leads Sophie to the master bathroom to draw her a bath.

Sophie wakes up 4 hours later. Everyone is standing around her worried. She caught them up on why Anatoly drugged her to go back to Natasha since Sophie wouldn’t let him leave. Mary Ann stays with Sophie while the others keep their appearances up. Sophie asks Mary Ann to help her with her rondeau with Alex tonight. Mary Ann will track him at the hotel while Sophie does some reconnaissance before they meet.

Anatoly wants Sophie to go back to San Francisco right away! He wants it to look like they are still broken up which means he will need to be around Natasha for a while. Sophie is mad and slaps him across the face. She doesn’t agree to this plan so Anatoly makes her a drink. She starts to get dizzy and weak. Anatoly drugged her!! She is not going to be happy.

Anatoly says Tanya led him to the hotel room. He thought Sophie was there. But when they got to the room she held him at gunpoint. He thought they had gotten Sophie already. He thought it was her room. A man with a gun showed up a little after them (must be Alex the GM). Anatoly didn’t kill Tanya. Natasha did. She saved his life. They both made up with one another but they are both still in danger.

Sophie is in the room with the girls updating them on meeting Anatoly’s wife. They leave for the trade show and Sophie is thinking about the situation. She takes Anatoly’s phone and throws it towards the door where it is caught! By Anatoly!!

The woman who talked with Sophie about the Russian military is Anatoly’s ex wife! She asks Sophie where he is cause she can save him just like she did before. Sophie has no idea where he is. Natasha also says Hotel Noir is a bad hotel and that she can’t get out of it. It’s run by bad people. She also said that she saved Anatoly the night before. Tanya was her cousin. I’m not sure if she knows she is dead.

Sophie went back to Hotel Noir to find the guy she gave the check to for getting Anatoly’s room number. The guy, Alex Kinsky, is the hotel manager! He took care of Sophie’s problem. The housekeepers cleaned the closet. The woman with Anatoly who was killed was Tanya Davi. She worked at the hotel. Alex slides Sophie a note saying they are being watched and to meet him later.

Sophie’s mom calls her and tells her someone broke into her house. Everything is a mess but nothing of value is taken. The only things missing are the computer and USB drives. This might be how they got her clothes and other belongings that she found in the hotel room with the dead woman.

Sophie can’t sleep, she goes down to the lobby. a woman comes up to her. She asks her all kinds of questions on how she studies to write about murder in her books. Asked if she has military experience. Sophie says the USA military doesn’t train to murder. Then this lady says the Russian military does! In the Russian military there is cross over into the mafia! She warns her to leave. She knows Anatoly!

Sophie fills everyone in o. What she found. They all agree to wait to see what happens in the morning. Sophie is really worried about Anatoly. What could have happened to him?

The man who Sophie payed is Alex Kinsky. He saw Antony and the woman go into the same room, 608. Sophie is devastated and drinks so much she is drunk. She goes to the room to confront Antony. The door is left open. She goes inside but everything is still neat. No Anatoly but all his stuff is there: phone, money, ammunition!! And Sophie’s clothes are there! And the woman with Anatoly is dead in the closet!!

Sophie is at Vegas with Dena and Marcus. Marcus tells Sophie that Anatoly is there in Vegas too! He is with some blond chick with his arm around her. Sophie goes to confront him but chickens out. She pays some guy $250 to follow Anatoly and the girl. She wants to know if they are staying in the same room.

The part that bothers Sophie the most is the lying and being secretive. The random calls Anatoly keeps getting that he doesn’t answer around Sophie might be from this wife. To get her mind off of Anatoly, Deena, Sophie, and Marcus are going to Vegas! Leah and Mary Ann are in the middle of planning Mary Ann’s wedding that is a month away and won’t be going to Vegas.

Sophie finds out that Anatoly is still married. He was working in Russia and wanted US citizenship. The mob boss made a deal with Anatoly. If he did one last job he could marry his daughter, Natasha, and he could live in the US and she could be disconnected from the mob world of her family. Sophie kicks Anatoly out. He says he is going to fix this. Sophie is heartbroken.

At the end of the last book, Fawn - the girl who Rick cheated on Mary Ann with and shot Dena by accident when trying to shot Mary Ann, is now in jail - called Sophie and told her that Anatoly has a wife! Anatoly never told Sophie!
