Status Updates From Lointain souvenir de la peau

I really want to hate this book and fling it in the fire. But I think there is a good story here, just hidden under a lot of endless stream of consciousness and unnecessary words that are nails on a chalkboard for me. Also not a fun family book.

Is there a point to this? I feel really bad for Kid. But really, this book needs a serious edit & / or abridgement.

This is not my choice of reading material. It was chosen for the "52 Award winning" ALA list and is a family shared book. Otherwise, I'd DNF and delete it. It's probably a great book for others, but the constant sex comments puts me off. I feel badly for Kid, I wish he'd had better - or any - parenting and encouragement growing up, but not enjoying the book.
