Status Updates From A Scarlet Bride

Not as good as I'd hoped, I was looking for a little more depth to the characters and story given the premise and what had happened to Alexandra. 3-3.5 stars.

I don't think they had what we know as "baby showers" until at least WWII.
The research for this book seems a little off.

There are a few words/phrasing that seem particularly modern or modern slang that have pulled me out of the book a few times, I wish they weren't in here. They would be easy fixes.

"He hadn't even said he was sorry." sums it up best. Even will all the "I didn't meant to hurt you's" and everything else she's right he never once apologized for doing what he's done.

For all we've seen him grown into caring for her he's really sticking his foot in his mouth. "Be reasonable." Suurrree...as if that explained why you were paid twice to sleep with her.

I'm confused, didn't Conner's ex-mistress already tell him about the book? Why is he acting like reading about it in the newspaper the first time he's heard of it? And why is aunt Clara upset with her? Her reputation was ruined 5 years ago, the book is putting things to right, and it was on it path long before Conner compromised her for money. He doesn't get to care/be upset about the book.

If you hate hoe bad everything is over a $500 bet you'd better go cancel the much larger one and just eat your losses. Two weeks without your wife talking to you, your sister hating you, and your servants appalled by you should get your head out of your ass; THEY'RE not making your life hard you did it to yourself.

I hope that shrew of an ex-mistress gets her karma kick in the ass.

I can't believe he made 2 wagers against(?) her or for bedding her. I mean obviously this is going to blow up in his face.

A little bit of a slow start I feel, it keeps hinting at things but no real clear picture for either the H of h about what happened. Though I think I know what happened in her past.

finished it, and was awesome! worried about rumors and what he ex did to her! gets married and difficult with spouse bit learns he loves her!

I loved this book!!!!

Connor's big secret #1 is out, but I think shite's going to really hit the fan when big secret #2 comes out.
