This book: Everyone knows what's best for Helena except Helena & she needs a personality transplant so she can realize how right everyone else was actually & that she DIDN'T know herself. Poor baby David, pining after her (and treating her like trash) while STUPID Helena chased an UNWORTHY man instead of A MAN OF CHARACTER like David. Was gonna be a 2* but what a silly ending, I laughed at several points.

I witnessed him being a good dad for an ENTIRE 24 hrs and now I LOVE HIM. Over a decade of near-constant verbal abuse and sexual harassment? Who cares about that? He was treated badly as a child! And he WANTED me all along, who cares how he treated me? Fuck Helena too lol, what a revolting "love" story. Also really gross when read alongside RTH. Damn, at least Millie would have half a reason to treat Fitz like shit.

If only everyone in this book gave HALF of a fuck as much about Helena's feelings as they do about David's OR as they do about her reputation. Everyone besides Helena sucks so much in this book, she's the only one who's not a raging hypocrite.

Everyone caring more about Helena's reputation than they do about her is making me so mad. Especially Fitz, Venetia (you hypocrites!), and Millie. I can't believe them "helping" preserve her reputation is being treated as kindness. Of course they're helpinhelping! It's THE ONLY THING they care about. Hastings' character concept is so stupid and his "love" is so selfish holy hell.

Oh, this is WELL worth waiting for it to become available at the library. Giggling and kicking my feet every chapter!
