Heavens above and below - are we here again??? Jane panting after him because "he has a nice butt" while ALSO thinking about the perfectly reasonable, attractive, human but still capable alternative of a romantic partner??? I've seen this s-it before and I didn't like the ending. How many times does she need to think "he's Leo's lapdog" before she actually accepts that as the truth? And rejects him?

See, this is where the problems might really start - I didn't forgive Bruiser yet, he did NOTHING to earn a second chance or to change my mind but Jane is already letting him touch her. Now I feel angry when Jane is... thinking. And if that anger builds up... sigh.

So.... the new kid. Can we like officially adopt him? Into the core cast of characters? I like him. He is interesting. He is... not all dark and broody and problematic. Let's have more of that, please.

I guess we now know about Bruiser. George. He was a victim. But then he came and tried to... reason it out? Excuse his action? Act like forgiveness is a conclusion, not a distant option in the future? That was a choice. This book is reeeeaaally putting me through the wringer.

I... understand why Jane is so full of recrimination but by what we (I) consider modern moral standards, she was a 5-year-old who just watched something horrible happen to her mum and dad. And if we ignore the real-life moral dilemma of this fantasy series, well, I'd point out male characters have an old boboo and can blame anything and everything on that one Trauma. So A killer? A warrior? A protector? Thin lines...

WHAT'D JUST HAPPENED??? WHAT THE F??? HAVE I JUST WITNESSED?? Why do I feel the need to either quit the series or have Jane stake Leo? Violently? And Katie. She should get a stake of her own for sure. And Bruiser...? Let's not even go there. I was getting so... there was hope? And now there's THIS. I am not okay. I am not sure what is being communicated by this. I don't like it. Let's make a plan, Jane! You got it!

Excuse moi???? Papers? For Jane? About... oh my. The bomshells just keep coming. The book seems to go in a pretty dark direction so far but these little steps into... the future? Hmmm....

Oh my, that's a bombshell. I was wondering what actually happened... but why then is she so... distant? Is she regretting her choice? I thought they were working towards harmony, which must be the ultimate goal but I guess we're still in the "meandering" stage of the development.
