so far, it’s as i expected. this book is way more mentally interesting than Memoirs of a Geisha, *but* Memoirs is more lyrically written and transportive.

unfortunately, Memoirs also wholesale took people’s lives and turned them into characters, and it’s no shock to me that Iwasaki sued!!!!!

I’m on page 378 of 473 - had to change input to % because Goodreads thinks I’m done based off page number 🫠

As its non fiction there’s not really a plot line to go off just lots of little accounts of memories in her life. It’s been so interesting and very similar to memoirs of a geisha. Hoping to finish today!
