The aftermath of Nate’s accident was dark and ridiculous at the same time. It sort of reminded me of Tim O’ Brien’s The Things They Carried.

Whoever pulls off such ridiculous atrocity (an unsurprising aftereffect of war, IMO) is one helluva writer, if you ask me. And yes, Pamela Clare is one helluva writer!
