Cheeky ending! Was nearly going to end on the most romantic note as well!

...her soul will now be connected to Jay's? Would it have made more sense that Pagan was actually Dank's soulmate but that her existence in Jay's life had skewed his own soul's connection i.e. he wasn't able to recognise his true soulmate because Pagan lived? Reminiscent of Saroya's presence in Elizabeth's body, rendering Lothaire unable to properly recognise his Bride.

"This soul had been Victoria's mate. Now that it was damaged, the connection had transferred. Jay's soul was now complete."
While I'm glad Jay has found someone other than Pagan to pine for, it seems the rules of the book change to suit the plot. When Wyatt died, his soul reincarnated and he and Miranda were able to, unknowingly, reunite and connect again. Now that Victoria's mate has died and will be sent to Hell...

If the Deity truly did wipe Pagan's memories, why allow her heart, her soul, to recognise Dank's...soul too? Why allow her to always be aware of his presence? Surely, Dank must be her true soulmate for her to feel these things. How was Pagan even able to retrieve her memories at all unless Dank was her true soulmate and her yearning outweighed the memory loss?

If Jay is truly Pagan’s soul’s mate, why does she yearn so for Dank? Why can she physically feel his presence without seeing him? Why does her soul try to leave her body when they kiss? Surely, that is a true reaction of a soul meeting its other half, even though Dank possesses no soul himself.

Dank is granted a chance by the Deity with Pagan but Gee isn’t allowed to get attached?

Did Wyatt’s soul retain no memories of the afterlife? Is it his soul recognising Miranda’s or does he know about his own reincarnation? Will his parents recognise or feel a connection to him now as Nathan? Who occupied Nathan’s body before this? Or was a new adult body conjured up specifically for Wyatt’s soul because his own had died too soon?

This series should be renamed The Trials and Tribulations of Pagan Moore. Sometimes, I feel like the plot was written as it came to Abbi Glines’ mind and not thoroughly planned out. Why was the Voodoo subplot so easily overcome in Predestined? Why is Jay, the high school boyfriend who so easily discarded Pagan, with whom she’s voiced little attachment in previous books, now suddenly his soul’s other half?
