Status Updates From Baxter Mariah

It's been such a busy semester but I'm so excited to finally be starting this book!

I'm gonna read some more tonight, but if I'm still not enjoying it I'm gonna have to stop, I don't want to but I'm not gonna force myself to read something I don't enjoy.

At the moment I'm picturing this kind of like The Cars That Ate Paris. It's starting to feel like one of those classic post-apocalyptic ozploitation films.

Think I'll spend some quiet time with this today..

I feel like this book would be really good if I could understand what was going on. It is getting better though.

The world-building and characters have me intrigued. The dialogue and descriptive is easy to follow as well. <3

Got this free through goodreads, not sure what I think yet, but I'm a little confused.

It's a bit early for first impressions, but I get the sense that this is going to be similar in style to Riddley Walker, set in Australia. I'm already picking up the local references - "Southern Wells" for "New South Wales" for example, since the map looks like a post-flood Sydney. The language isn't as dense as Riddley Walker, which is a big relief to Post-Epic-Migraine-Ruby!
