On pg. 154 Dr. Frankenstein says "from that moment, I devoted my life to his destruction." This quote means that Dr. Frankenstein is blaming himself for the creation of the monster, Frankenstein. Because he created the monster he now has dedicated his life to find and destroy him once and for all. No matter the conditions, no matter the place, Dr. Frankenstein will find and destroy Frankenstein.

On page 131 Frankenstein is getting frustrated that everyone but him has a companion. Because of this he says, "I am fearless and therefore powerful." What this quote means is that Frankenstein is not afraid to commit crimes or injure others, and because of this he is very dangerous and unpredictable.

On page 107 Frankenstein says, "feelings of revenge and hatred filled my heart." This quote means that Frankenstein is beginning to become a monster. Frankenstein has been portrayed as a caring person, however because he is treated as though he was a monster, he can no longer hold in his anger. Because of this he takes his torch and sets the cottage on fire.

On page. 85 Frankenstein says, "I heard them use the words good spirit and wonderful only once or twice. This quote shows how people think of Frankenstein. Frankenstein does almost all of the work around the house unwillingly. However he only is thanked once or twice. This is so for the simple reasons that he looks different, and doesn't have great intelligence.

On page 69 Dr. Frankenstein shouts "Devil! How dare you approach me." The monster responds, "misery made me a monster. Make me happy, and I will be good." From this quote we realize that Frankenstein is afraid of the monster not by his personality, but his appearance. All the monster wants is to know that someone loves him.

On page 28, Victor Frankenstein says, "It was something more. I discovered how I could bring bring something back to life." This quote foreshadows that something will be brought back to life. Perhaps an animal or even a human being. One thing is or sure though; Dr. Frankenstein will not stop until he has brought something back to life.

On page 10 the stranger says, "On which route did the demon travel?" This stranger is new to the crew, so Captain Waltin does not know what the
"demon" is. Before the crew meets this strange man, they see a abnormally large man being pulled by dogs on a dogsled. This stranger must call the large creature a demon because of a past experience, but because the man is in shock, he can not explain his story yet.
