Found the 1st book fascinating, intriguing, despite the heavy political machinations, which usually bore me. The magical elements and the strength of the personality of the heroine and hero override any possible drag. This one, unfortunately, has a thinness to the relationship development, and the couple are a little too immediately connected in a friends-to-lovers way. Not my fav. So the politics started to bore.
