Status Updates From Blasphemy: New and Selected...

My parents keep lending me books with controversial authors and I guess I read them as a small rebellion against cancel culture and the idea that if a person has done a bad thing, their art is no longer valid. That isn't to say I accept the authors' actions. Instead I think the best course of action is to take the writing with a grain of salt, taking in the writing's value while acknowledging the authors' biases.

Night people was a great short story, my favorite 5⭐️, I’ve realized in 250 pages I’m just not a short story nor nonfiction person

I did not finish this book, I really really enjoyed reading the stories for the most part, but I felt like I was reading a collection of very similar stories over and over again. I really recommend the absolutely true diary of a part time Indian, I read it in eighth grade like three times over. I really enjoy Sherman alexie’s dry humor and style, but he has written better things!
