I adore the way in which Walley takes a socioeconomic and anthropological issue and shares it with us in the form of an autobiographical confession. I feel like every person views the world around them through the lens of their own journey and history, but very few are able to admit it because it might imply bias in their work. Walley uses it as a weapon instead of hiding from it.

Just finished chapter 3 and I only wish I had brought a highlighter with me on this read. Walley turns herself into a character that is easy to empathize with, and her writing style feels like a college lecture with only 6 students; she answers every question you could ask and anticipates the arguments that the guy in the back row is going to make.
