I'm loving the book and getting really into the mystery. Now I have no idea who's behind the murder. There are a few times the author was a bit repetitive, but on the other hand she had a delightful way with words I've forgotten all about, like curmudgeon.

. Here's what I've gathered so far to support my politician theory. First, he murdered Vic because what Vic was writing in his book exposed something bad for his political campaign. This second murder I'm guessing happened in the room the Remington's were staying in and he was looking for the papers. The campaign manager tipped him off from when she went to see Emily.

I'm going to guess the murderer is the politician. (Dang, now I'll be disappointed if he is...) The story flows nicely. Time flies while I'm reading it. I always want to keep reading. It's that mystery novel drive, I guess.

Right away I really like Stan and Emily. It's refreshing to read a book that's not about a bunch of young people (even though I am one!) It's a pleasant change to read about people in their 50s. The characters and their friendships feel very real, too.

The first chapter was decent, though if the author omitted with the dead body joke, the fact that there actually was a dead body in the rolled up carpet might have come more as a shock.
