Status Updates From Diuna: Dżihad Butleriański ...

Having now passed the halfway point, I feel confident saying that this probably needed to be tightened up a bit. There are a few too many characters and subplots.

Nearing the halfway point, the number of characters and their side quests have slowed the story's progress. More than a few of these characters have absolutely no agency in the grand scheme; at least as of yet. One particular character and his story only seem to be here because, well, Dune, and I guarantee he and his story will have no tangible effects on the story itself.

So far, this is a rollicking Space Opera full of interesting characters and ideas. Nothing here is as deep as the original "Dune", but that's perfectly okay with me. Not sure if it can keep up the momentum for another 400 pages, but we'll see.
