I don't like the switching back and forth from present to past-not getting either story. It's frustrating. Potentially a good story- the 2 plot lines are not meshing to make a coherent whole that I want to pursue. I may put this one down or just read the parts separately. I've ending up doing that w/ other books like this. How did authors tell stories like this 25 yrs ago before multiple POV/time lines became popular

I am irresistibly drawn to books set in wartime Poland. Belinda Seaward's writing is brilliant and I can hardly wait to read the next chapter.
