"Obama let it be known that he was 'outraged' by AIG's decision in March 2009 to pay out $165 million in bonuses to the executives of its Financial Products Division. This rebuke momentarily scared Wall Street. But Obama did not follow through with punitive measures in the form of actual monetary penalties, prosecutions, or congressional hearings."

The parts on the Bush presidency are the first that have some true holes. If the occupation of Iraq was poorly planned, I tend to think that's because the welfare of Iraq did not concern anyone in the Bush admin, not because they "had forgotten the carefully designed path to power" taken by US neolibs.
Also, we should apparently "rethink" if Bush's policy towards Muslims was so bad because Trump's is even worse(!).

"It was never as easy in practice as in theory for self-proclaimed neoliberals to disentangle their ideology from other liberalisms that were swirling around them. This disentangling was an especially challenging project in the United States where, as Foucault obserbed, liberalism has always been everywhere, never confined to one party or school."

"FDR had calculated that he needed the support of southern white supremacists to create and sustain his New Deal far more than he did black votes."
