I especially like the excerpts from the Mahabharata.

I completed Part 2 Chapter 3, which surveys how various Sanskrit texts cover odors, both good and bad, and their associations.

Completed Part 1, Introduction. Chapter 2 of Part 1 discussed the "order" of the senses in Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist traditions. I particularly liked the analysis of the types of odors described in the Mahabharata.

This is a scholarly book that I am borrowing through ILL. It is the sort of book that I need to purchase so that I can set aside and then pick up later. Chapter 1, Introduction, provides the layout of the book's content and a review of literature. Thanks to Anya's Garden perfumes for introducing me to this book.
