Frederick Douglass was so intelligent and filled with a lot of courage and boldness. Reading his speeches challenged me to be more vocal. To speak out against injustices and to be honest with the way things are done. I’m looking forward to finishing the book.

On the last speech. These are interesting. The last one I read was all about Haiti--Douglass served as ambassador there--and he talks about how great Haiti is, and how it will be a wonderful place if they can just stop having revolutions all the time. Sad to read.
