I had come to this book with the sole intention of reading a couple of essays with postmodern perspective for dry materially academic reasons. Balika Basu's Sherlock and the (Re)Invention of Modernity was quite an exoerience. I cannot say I have read anything quite as ridiculous.
Give it a go if you are in need of a laugh.

I intend to read this only in part, owing to dire necessity.
It is difficult to critically analyse something of which you are a "fan", if I may use the word. It feels like intrusion of privacy :(
