Pausing this one until next Christmas maybe. I’m leaving off with the story Christmas Present for future reference. I have enjoyed most of this book but my interest starts to go down after the season is over.

One short story/essay by Chris Holbrook has been my favorite so far. His travels from the North down home to his childhood home in the mountains of Kentucky was so familiar, so similar to my own such trips to the mountains of Virginia.

I am greatly enjoying this book, which I found while going through my mom’s house after she died. This copy of the book has been personally autographed by many of the authors, mom’s friends and acquaintances. So not only do the stories remind me of Kentucky and Christmases past, but the personal messages bring mom closer. Reading this book could easily become a Christmas tradition.
