Interesting point in page 72: Pity and outrage are two sides of the same coin. Pity is powerful, and also dangerous, because it implies that the person who has the emotion is more powerful than the person who is the object of the emotion. I might add that the person who has the emotion is perhaps also made more important, more valuable that the person who is the object of the emotion. And that's not a good thing!
