Finished Gospel of John - made me realize how pervasive Christian stories are because I was so bored reading it compared to the many stories in the OT I'm not familiar with.

First Samuel is great. The story of Saul and his beef with David is so compelling.

Much has happened since my last update. Judges, Ruth, Samuel I, many more Psalms. Going to read John now. I've been sharing thoughts with friends and family. No doubt I've gotten numb to the brutality and misery of the OT but been still trying to apply knowledge of the "moral code" set by the pentateuch to these later readings.

Almost through the Pentateuch. Ready to get to the promised land. Moses just got snubbed #wtf

On to Numbers/Deuterotomy. Exodus/Leviticus are insane and borderline torture to read, but I have hope.

Someone should write a murder mystery where each character commits a sin that pairs to a ritual described in Leviticus and the killer emulates that ritual in their murder

Almost through Genesis Job Proverbs. Genesis is insane, man. Job is really great. Proverbs is also insane.
