But when she saw Malik again she was genuinely happy. But when she looks at him she gives the best smile." I predict that Lucy and Malik will have a very good friendship/family. I say this because they were super distance when Malik first went home with Lucy after getting off the boat. But after a day Malik realized that he was going to have to get close to Lucy because she was his care giver. "Lucy asked Malik lots of questions about his life before he came to live with her. She asked him Papa's surname..."(page 283)

I predict that Booty will not have a good relationship with Ms. Lucy 's cats. I say this because "Shall we just put them together and see how they get on?"(page 269) This shows how Booty hasn't been around other cats recently and Based off what we know he hasn't for while. So I think it will take Booty awhile to adjust and the cat will just wanna stay close to Malik for the first week of the cats stay.

I predict that Malik won't find a family and will just become "rich" and live off his money because he found papas diamond tooth. I say this because "And he still had the diamond."(page 255) This shows how he has money and he will not need to live off another persons income to survive.

Malik is the type of person that is rude and a butt hole. Because he made this little kid cry and didn't feel bad about it."He was glad Sonny was upset....Malik enjoyed seeing him cry."(page 219) First of all Sonny is very young and lost a dog, 2 cats, and a hutch of guinea pigs. Malik give his cat up for a few pets to a young child that is missing his multiple pets. And 2 like I said he can share.He doesn't own cat?

Malik is the type of person to be defensive about what he loves/has. For example, Oskar who is his dorm mate asked if these rich kids could pet is cat cause they paid for a few minutes with the cat. And Malik is already kinda skeptical but agrees and after one pet he ends up not letting them touch the cat. And Oskar gets mad and tries to make a deal but Malikthink on it"He's my cat and they can't have him."(page 214)

Oskar is the type of person to use humor as a way to cope with sadness. Like on page 192 he makes fun of the cooks cooking."We saw the cooks making dinner. We'll be lucky if its edible."(pg 192) And then we see Malik further explain on page 197"And then he realized the crying came from the bunk above his head and it could be no one but Oskar."(pg 197) This shows how Oskar would rather suffer than silence thenbeloud.

Malik is the type of person to think about the situation and wonder why certain people act a certain way. Like on page 174 "Oskar glared at him and Malik realized that unlike him,these boys might actually have lost their families. They might have seen them killed." This shows how even though Oskar was being rude towards him he had to think about their past and take initiative that they don't have a family to relateto

I predict that the kid Malik is sharing a room with will give him a hard time for the two days they're on the boat. I say this because"As he approached his bed,Malik saw an older boy bent over his bunk,sorting through the contents of Maliks rucksack,which were spread across the mattress."(pg 168) This explains how the boy didn't care who it was, he was going to look through everyone and everyone's stuff.

I think Maliks character motivation for these pages is to find his mama that he hasn't seen in a while I'm guessing. I think he wants to find her because well he hasn't been with her and he had been promised to find her."He would go and see if Mama was wit the purser. But he had to be quick."(pg 146)"Malik knocked hard and the door was opened by a man with a large black beard, who started down at Malik."(pg 148)

I predict that Malik is going to get caught sneaking the cat on to the ship. I say this because Malik has to sneak the cat on to the boat through a jacket. And that doesn't sound like its very promising. Because the cat isn't comfortable and they will most likely check the people boarding the ship to make sure they don't sneak anything." The cat whined and cried,and it scratched at the side of the canvas."(pg 124)
