I'm kind of loving the background info on this strange area where magic doesn't work! While this is a VERY descriptive book, mainly about being in an Amazonian jungle, and can feel slow as a stand alone novel, it's all for the lore of what's to come! (I hope!) A little confused why this trilogy is called The Mage Wars when the last book wasn't really a war, and this one doesn't seem to be either, but I'll see..!
