WTAF - I actually just checked the publication date and was shocked to find this was written in 2023. Who TF throws casually racist terms into conversation?
No setting date is given, but the characters don’t have cell phones. Still, WTAF.

This has quickly become a theological versus rational debate between characters, and I'm very intrigued. Why have the book set in Pennsylvania with the "ancient" manor house being moved there? I don't understand how that's an easier idea than if Anne had just gone with Kevin to England for the summer because his now rich parents bought the manor there. I'm not sure I understand the why of that, and it's bugging me.
