Just wanted to finish it to get it over with so I could talk about how much I despise this book at book club and also ask who recommended it and also request they be banned. Unfortunately unable to stay awake to finish this nonsense. Will finish it in the morning.

Page 168. “Coming of Age in Samoa….What did I have in common with all of those savages?”
…..
…..
As a Polynesian girl…what. the. actual. fuck.
…..
This book has ONE TOO MANY racist terms & stereotypes mentioned. All coming from a white woman author. This book is disgusting and pathetic.

*Book Club Pick*
I’ve just finished the 1st chapter & honestly, if it wasn’t a book club book, I would DNF it. So far, there’s a rich lady in a private plane with her rich husband + his colleges & family, her being married for 5 years, fantasies about cheating/is condoning “no strings attached” cheating and the writer felt the need to write about a “fat woman” & talked down about her physique….
