Halfway done! Enjoying the details of all her hikes but feel like half of the personal stuff should have been saved for therapy, life coaching and letters. Poor woman was traumatized but tmi in the book. Should have been all about her and her adventures with that trauma not highlighted so much. Poor woman to endure that crap but bravo to her for walking away and moving forward!

An absolute must read. So many times reading this book I was amazed at how some of my thoughts and life events mirrored what Linda has weathered. I have learned a lot just from reading about her experiences and how she managed to make it through. Hiking has really helped me as well (I started a few years ago) and I agree wholeheartedly that cold weather hiking stinks and hiking for the views is definitely the best.

An absolute must read. There were many similarities between Linda's life and mine. So many times I thought "I know exactly what she is feeling". I have learned so much from this book in how to deal with some of my own thoughts and feelings. The adventure of hiking is most definitely a bug that once caught is hard to get rid of and why would you? Like Linda I prefer to hike for the views and in warm weather as well.

We lived in New Hampshire for 23 years. We climbed many of the mountains that she discusses. We even spent a night in the AMC Huts near the top of one of the mountains. I am really caught up in this book.
