Status Updates From Le Pendu (Tarot, #2)

One of my quibbles with this book is the same I had with the first one though on a smaller scale. The emotions are too strong all the time. The impact lessens when every statement or interaction is described as this whirlwind of emotions and “naked relief” and stuff like that I can’t think of another concrete example rn. It’s fine when used sparingly but it’s used way too much in these books imo.

The posturing is less egregious than in the first one but still too much. Like enough with the proclamations. Fun that we finally got to see this Hanged Man, he was super gross.

Call me evil but it would’ve been better for the story imo if L**** was dead. Like sorry but it’s good if your characters fail sometimes, are too late sometimes… otherwise what are the stakes !

This guy is turning people into mushrooms? Is this NBC Hannibal?

It’s a step up from the first one imo. The plot is a lot less incoherent and I like the addition of Addam.
