I remember bell hooks arguing that every race of women require a safe space to articulate their unique realities. I feel like for most of my childhood/adulthood, I've been searching for a way to unpack and understand my own identity or my own "unique reality." Not only is this book helping me do that, but it's also adding context to the forces that shaped my experience and I-- I'm just blown away. Love this!!!

I’m really enjoying this book so far. The similar struggles brown Indian girls and black girls share are truly so deep rooted and sick yet more alike than we think.
