Picking this book off my shelf this morning I was reminded of why I bought it— a Sociology of Health class in 2013. I gently stroked the Turning the Tide price sticker on the back reminding me of the little ways we used to try to subvert the disparity of the academic system while still buried deep in it. Rereading the first few chapters I remembered the conversations that made the topic so important to me
