Everything seems to be going according to plan, so I'm honestly wondering what's going to fill these remaining 87 pages. More doubt and struggle, I suppose. More flashbacks.

"As Abbie's fingertips warmed his knuckles, her strength flowed into him along with the tea."

Tea is life. Well, that's what I'm choosing to take from this, anyway.

So.Many.Flashbacks. Every movement, every breath, every look triggers a flashback. Goddammit I get it, but pace this shit out. The scene with Abbie and Beth at the table. Awful. As much as I love tea, that was just too much. Have her rub her neck or blink or something. Instead she was sipping tea, stirring tea, putting sugar in the tea, pouring tea, holding the cup, watching steam from the cup. Fuck.

Tons of reminiscing in these first two chapters. I'm annoyed, but it's the first two chapters. However it feels repetitive. I get it--they used to have great sex. He's a reverend now, but he's still got lust in him and the memory of his outlaw days has been rekindled. From the looks of it, she wants now part of it--not true, of course--all talk. Perhaps another marriage for the sake of convenience is in order.
