Olive’s eyes widen as she studies the large creature. “Follow me,” he hisses. And with that, the monstrosity scurries out of the room and out of sight. Olive limps after him, dragging her bandaged foot. She limps out of the dining room and into the dark corridor.

The sound of footsteps creaking outside in the hallway. Olive’s attention snaps to the door. She spies a dark shadow flickering in the candlelight beneath the doorway. As suddenly as it appeared, the shadow flits away, vanishing.

The first story is still my favorite but the second one did make me feel very uneasy- 10/10

He gazes at the portrait longingly as if it were the first time that he was seeing it, as if it were truly a sight to behold, as if he would give anything to endure such wondrous suffering.
