Status Updates From Red Island

Not a bad ending, it was satifying. Review to come.

Now we're getting somewhere! I was practically screaming at my book PHOTOGRAPHER, THINK ABOUT IT!! We got there shortly after, I'm pleased.

Seriously, how do you expect to solve a crime when 86% of the book is spent with the cops scratching their head going "I dunno, maybe he'll kill another one and we'll get something." *sigh*

Let me guess, *psychic hat* serial killer gets mad that another murder is blamed on him incorrectly, sets out to prove cops wrong, makes mistake that gets him caught. *reads ahead* Yep, so far correct!

No, of course it isn't your guy. Anyone with two brain cells knows it isn't, why are people arguing about it?

I refuse to believe that so many women are this lacking in self preservation instinct. "Hey strange man, you want to take pictures of my kids for an ad? While a serial killer is running around killing women? Great! Here's my full name and phone number and everything you need to track me down." *facepalm* Seriously? Similar stuff for nearly every victim.

I dunno why but I keep having parts of this that I absolutely love and other parts that I just think "boring yawn". Very off and on for me.

Now I'm on board with all of it. The switching POV is getting less annoying, but still jarring when I'm invested in one particular bit.

Stop jumping back to the police investigation! It's not nearly as good as the serial killer's POV.

So most of police work in this is sitting around shrugging thinking, "I dunno, I guess we'll have to wait for him to kill someone else cause I got no idea."...really?

Interesting...I like the way this is going now. Pretty typical stuff for a murder mystery but good all the same.

Pretty good red herring...if I didn't know the killer's name wasn't Mike but was Ben. Unless Mike is an alias for Ben. I dunno why that keeps bugging me so much, but it is.

It will be really anti-climactic to find the killer when the reader has known all along what his name was.

Not sure how I feel about alternating chapters in first person and third person. Kind of jarring.

Intriguing so far, a nice police procedural it's looking to be.
