I hate history and i hate history books. I dont know what has gotten into me but an interest in Baldwin IV striked in me. Im taking notes as I read it and it takes a long time to finish a single chapter. Painful, but enjoyable... Hope to finish it.

It goes more into baldwin’s mother, describing her. Then Raymond of Tripoli.
Baldwin’s leprosy started getting worse as he got older and it got more obvious he had it. It started scaring the servants and maids with his face.

There was also trading involved between the Franks and Muslims. Silk, cane sugar, etc. It mentions a lot about the background of the kingdom and Baldwin’s family. But I haven’t read a lot about Baldwin himself. I know there aren’t a lot of records based on him but I’d like to have a more deeper dive on him himself instead of his family and the kingdom during his reign.

Baldwin has just been crowned. He was described to be quite handsome, and very smart. The next chapter then mentioned about the kingdom during his reign. Mentioning the pope and William of Tyre. They mentioned the crusaders, talking about what they wore. And a few mentions of Saladin invading Jerusalem.
