Tom Tringle is HILARIOUS!! He's a much more immature, whiny Mr. Collins lol

Frank Houston is such a fascinating character... not a great guy but fascinating!

Colonel Stubbs is SUCH a great character!! Ayala also reminds me quite a bit of Marianne Dashwood.

This story is SO entertaining! "When I tell you that I won't, you oughtn't to go on. It isn't manly." - you tell the lout, Ayala!!

I have a strong feeling this will be a top Trollope!

Fully half of this book is “I want to/don’t want to marry this person.”

The plot thickens. Two suitors for Ayala have just realized that they are friends. Well, they were friends. Now they mad.
