Again no, for multiple reasons. Tweens in general and in my experience tweens with a diagnosis have difficulty managing their time, this piece of advice -as it is written- might make them late as well as seem clingy.

Try ‘if convenient greet your teacher, it can be a small wave. When giving the greeting try to look at their face or at them, eye contact is not necessary.’

‘Say hello when you enter the classroom or see your teacher in other parts of the school and goodbye when class is dismissed. Try to look your teacher in the eye, meaning that you are focusing on his eyes, when saying hello and goodbye’

‘It’s often hard for me to look people in the eye, but if you remind me to look at you with a special signal, such as pointing to your eye, I will try to look you directly in the eye’

Just no. What does this accomplish? What does direct eye contact help achieve? If it just to attend one already has to be attending to see the signal. Ugh.

Not loving this. The author (who has a PhD) seems out of touch with her intended audience, such as using the word tummy. Do twelve year olds know about mercury thermometers? Or why go on this extended metaphor about a car overheating when I think it’s good enough (or even better) to just say overwhelmed or anxious.
Writing is also clunky such as using the phrase ‘he or she’ rather than they, etc.
