Another time, Amr ibn al-As, came and asked the Messenger of God:
“Whom do you love most among people?”
He had hoped to find out his own significance in the eyes of the Messenger of God and expected to hear himself named.
But God’s Messenger, without hesitation, replied:
“Aisha.”
Amr ibn al-As continued, expecting to hear his own name, asked: “Then among men?”
And he replied:
“Her father.”
