The “Discipline of Worship” chapter seems to be the most specific in detail to Richard Foster’s own denominational practices, and yet I really still enjoyed a lot of his theology of worship, even if I practice it somewhat differently style-wise.
“What we must see is that the real question in worship is not, ‘What will meet my need?’ The real question is, ‘What kind of worship does God call for?’”

Submission to each other: the cross-life and the cross-death. Whew! The "Discipline of Submission" chapter was a hard read. Jesus, help me live out this specific disciple!!
"Only submission can free us sufficiently to enable us to distinguish between genuine issues and stubborn self-will."

"In solitude, listen to the thunder of God's silence."
Don't you feel a tug, a yearning to sink down into the silence and solitude of God? Don't you long for something more? Doesn't every breath crave a deeper, fuller exposure to his presence? It is the Discipline of Solitude that will open the door. You are welcome to come in & "listen to God's speech and his wondrous terrible, gentle loving all embracing silence."
