عايز اقول بردو اني مش متأكد من كلامي ده عشان ممكن يبقى الغلط فيا ، بإذن الله هقرا الكتاب بالانجليزي عشان اشوف المشكلة كانت فين بردو

خلصت المذكرات نفسها و رأيي اتغير الصراحة
اولا معايا مشكلة مع الترجمة ، هري فاضي كتير اوي ممكن يترجم بطريقة افضل من كده ، كلام محطوط متفهمش هو محطوط ليه
جمل كتيرة غير مفهومة
الترجمة قتلت روح النص للأسف ، لما خلصت النص الاولاني للمذكرات بدأ ملل و كلام مصلحين اجتماعيين و احداث اوفر و القيمة بتاع المذكرات وقعت ، غالبا هو ضعف ترجمة لإني كتير جدا و حصل اني فجأة اكون بقرا بلاقي اني مش فاهم هو انا فين و هو بيقول ايه

Ah, and here we have Franklin's recommendation that women be taught math and accounting so they can run businesses and be of use to their families and communities outside of the home.

And here we have Franklin expressing his view that Muslims are not only welcome in America, but welcome to preach in public forums: "even if the Mufti of Constantinople were to send a missionary to preach Mohammedanism to us, he would find a pulpit at his service."

Continuing on in the Benjamin-Franklin-Isn't-Particularly-Christian vein, here he writes about how he never goes to church, but the one time he did, he thought the preacher's sermons were bad. Also, he got officially elected to a position on a board due to his "not having any sect." The man simply has no time for strict dogma and hierarchical religion.

It's fascinating to hear claims that we're a "Christian nation" when Franklin's autobiography (1) references his early criticisms of Christianity such that he was called a "heretic" and an "atheist," (2) describes his ongoing "want" (i.e. lack) of religion, (3) defends atheists' ability to be moral people, and (4) describes his embrace of the tenets of deism. It's not like this is subtle.

B. Frank and I seem to have had the same early Philadelphia experience: unemployed, sleeping on couches, reading lots of books, and living off whatever cheap/free food you can find. The main difference, as far as I can see, is that the governor did not randomly show up to offer to personally underwrite my non-existent zine business. Guess I wasn't hustling hard enough.
