Book VIII Augustine seeks wisdom to live a godly life & is convicted by the conversion of others (both those witnessed & heard about). The social psychology of salvation (the greater joy felt when someone very lost or very famous is converted). Wrestling with the desire to do God’s will versus the desire to maintain bad habits. Finally his mother is overjoyed to hear the news that he is converted!

Estou, atualmente, no instigante prefácio escrito pelo professor da Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade de São Paulo (FFLCH/USP), Lorenzo Mammì.
