It is starting to sum up, but they are starting to give more details of what the amish community is becoming. They are still explaining the mai n rules of the church and the things that you can get shunned for.

Sarah is starting to get scared that Samuel will leave the amish family because he is holding off his baptism so long. But I think she is scared because she wants to be just like her parents and get baptized as soon as she can, so I think she's scared because Samuel isn't all for that as she is.

In my book, they are now starting to explain how in the 1970s, some of the Amish community went to court to officially have the children only go to school to 8th grade. The courts point was that it was in the freedom of religion to do so, so it got passed that Amish children only had to go to school till 8th grade, or their 14th birthday.

As I was reading today, it is on the topic of school. It explains how long the amish typically go to school; also the rules and beliefs for the school system.

My book is about the Amish community and some of the rules they live by. I was interested in this book because an Amish family lives across from me, and though they are just like normal people, they have many different rules than we, the "English", do. So reading this book, I feel that I can learn some more and know why they have certain things that they do.
