So like for the last 75 pages Roland and Liv are friends. Exchanging stories and falling in love. Believable! Now she they've confessed their love and she is just going to believe someone else when they say something nasty about him? Hmph. This book.

Liv and Roland are so boring and one dimensional right now. This is a reread and I forgot how little they have in common. Right now it is mostly Roland smoldering at Liv and Liv tittering with unfulfilled lust. Neither of them have had any moments to connect to make me believe that they'll be great together. Roland doesn't have any insight into Liv right now. I also hate that it is intertwined with the series.

Numerous balls, house parties, boat races, and now horse races. The level of detail in Hesse historical entertainments is amazing, but where did the development of erotic tension between the Hero and Heroine go? The author is not building their sexual tension...only Hero2/heroine2 have sexual tension/passion...this is kind of disappointing!

The romance between the H/h is moving along at a snails pace! Finally their "sham" betrothal was announced. The romance of the secondary characters, Margot and Philip, on the other hand, is pretty intense and erotic. I keep getting tired of reading about no new developments in the relationship between H/ h that it makes me fear I will DNF, and not touch a book by this author again.

It seemed like a good plot at the beginning. Lots of interactions and locales where the H and h appear together and there is a lot of erotic tension but they haven't had sex yet. Another couple the comtesse Margot and the heroines father, the Earl of Arlington, are having a passionate affair, so they are filling in the erotica void. The heir to Arlington predictably feels threatened by Margot and Arlingtons affair
