Status Updates From The Auspicious Troubles of ...

This one just isn't resonating with me all that well...too much "tell" and not enough "show." Not all that fond of Chance either; even if it's supposed to mirror the cadence and style of the era in which this book is set, his "voice" is annoying as all hell.

I am giving up for the time being and putting it on my try-again-later shelf. I am just not in the mood for this I guess.

I don't like characters talking to me. Really hope the whole book isn't like this.

Oh I loved Chance, he had it sucky in the beginning but then it got better. Jacky was so awesome, the brats were extremely cute. My fav was Johnnie. Now for his book which I bought as soon as I finished this one!!

Nice ending. I loved Chance as the narrator. I'm pretty smitten with Jacky, too.

It's touching to see Johnnie, Alexander and Bobby looking to Chance for strength.

And this is where Johnnie and the rest meet Henry. Johnnie was smitten on first sight.

No way will Jacky be able to stay in the Legion after being injured that badly.

Ah, shit, Jacky!

I love that Chance is getting closer to all of the boys.
