they just leave the dock to start fishing. they have just started the first day they haven't caught any fish or even set out the lines but the first day of the season has started. Pg 24 - Pg 32

The main character is Robbie Daniels he is 16. he lives in Port protection. He has flown outside of protection and is trying to find work. The work he is looking for is fishing for king salmon and people needing a deckhand at first he couldn't find anybody but he crawled up on a boat as he was admiring it. a man walked back to the boat and scolded him for being on his boat. He is now working for that man on his boat.

so far he has just left protection by plane to go to the destination for fishing.

While the prose and plot are pretty basic, the last few chapters have provided a harrowing and believable account of being in a small craft on stormy seas. I can see younger readers enjoying this a lot.
