Let them perceive... the cloud that falls on the parent's heart when the love of the child is restrained. Natural reticence and pride incline us to ...to make no sign of the pain caused by their thoughtless omissions. I am reading this on an alternate schedule where you dip in and out of the book, so it is hard to keep track of how far I am in this book, but it is making the book come alive to me to dip in and out of different sections!
