I read the short story version years ago and loved it. Now I'm reading the complete story. I got an older edition (1977 I think) from the library. The unabridged version covers the author's complete trip into the wilderness to observe beavers, not just the part where he finds the orphan beaver and raises it. I'm learning a lot about beavers!
