Yeah, I unfortunately think I'm gonna DNF this after the uh "When it comes to your fundamental duty as a son or daughter, whatever your father's character may be, whatever his personality or habits are, is secondary." and the "Whether you find him to be agreeable or not, this man is, when all is said and done, your father, and you should live up to all of your filial obligations." Still reading, but considering DNFing this because a couple of times it has made me feel like maybe it's ostracizing people with mental illnesses/neurodivergent people/specifically people with ADHD? Not sure. Likely this is not intentional, but it feels kinda yuck, plus, I already feel like I have the book's message down pat.

I do not think that facing the realities of death are as freeing from miserable thoughts to somebody with rumination OCD as they might be to the more casual reader. Hehe.

I feel like I agree with the majority of points made (maybe 90%?) but that I, personally, would rather have more empathy than recommended in these teachings. Not sure if there's a fine line to walk between detached and sympathetic that they are recommending that I am missing.
