Status Updates From A Double Affair

Angela Thirkell may have many eccentricities as a novelist but she wrote the marriage of these two never-married, middle age persons beautifully!

Now that I’ve read more Dickens, I’m picking up on how many allusions Thirkell makes to his novels. It’s rather funny given that her whole series is based on Trollope’s Barsetshire.

I don’t usually pick up another Barsetshire novel right away but I couldn’t help it this time. I want to know how it all works out for dear Dorothea!
