Here's an oddity, Wodehouse uses the word "bazooka" in this book in a context to suggest he's talking about a forearm, while in a book written the previous year (The Swoop) he used bazooka to mean a rough noisy instrument (aka kazoo, I'd assume). What's interesting is that from what I've looked up, he invented the word, though someone else popularized it as a type of musical instrument before the weapon.

(first two pages are full of impenetrable 1920's cricket jargon, from which I divine that... someone is doing something and someone else is trying to stop them... maybe) well... (sigh) here we go again...
